Intro to 3D Printing

This is a workshop for people that are new to 3D printing. There will be 3 separate sessions: Basics, Filaments and Design. Participants can sign up for any of them, but we encourage you to take the Basics course first.

Session 1: Basics
In Basics, we dive into what 3D printing is and is not. Then we will cover the process of acquiring, preparing and printing your designs. If you are new to 3D printing, this session will get you up and running.

Session 2: Filaments
In Filaments, we cover how to set your slicer and your printer up for running filaments other than PLA. Todd Louthain, owner of Coex, LLC will be our guide in discussions of filaments and settings.

Session 3: Design
In Design, we will introduce participants to the cloud-based Tinkercad software that will enable users to create their own designs. This will be a peek into our Design Tech- Intro workshop

Disclaimer: We will not be covering unboxing and setting up your printers. Also, in these sessions we will be using Bambu Studio as our slicer and Bambu printers as our print demos. It is beyond the scope of this class to fully cover other printers and slicers.
