Mel was a mermaid who wanted to get human legs so she could live on land instead of in the water. A sea serpent made a deal with her that he would give her human legs, if she would give him her voice. Mel gave the sea serpent her voice and now the only way to get her voice back is by completing the Sea Serpent's challenges about sound. Unfortunately, Mel knows very little about sound.
