For Educators

How It Works
Schools lease the units from The Einstein Project at affordable rates so all interested schools districts can participate without having to purchase costly materials for a first-rate science education. Because The Einstein Project owns the kits, the management, maintenance and storage of the units is our responsibility, not the schools. Teachers receive the units in a "ready-to-teach" condition. Without Einstein, many elementary schools would not have the time or materials to do quality science in the classroom.

Teachers Teaching Teachers
Prior to using an Einstein Unit in the classroom, teachers must go through their own hands-on training in the classroom. During these four to 8 hours of instruction, educators become comfortable with the materials and gain knowledge of the subject matter leading to a confidence level in the classroom. We offer training three times a year through in-services and at a summer Einstein Academy. The Einstein Project has trained more than 4,300 teachers since 1991.

"I must say that Einstein has made an enormous impact on my teaching. Receiving these kits throughout the year is like educational Christmas! Once a student has used an Einstein kit, they are hooked on science for life!"
-- Lori Schwab, Grade 3 Teacher, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin

"I met the Einstein Project in the early 1990's when our school district was searching for a new science program. This was a perfect match for me as a classroom teacher. I did not have a good science background. The Einstein Project provided this with teacher training. The units are hands-on and teacher friendly. My students and I love the units!
As time went on I became a teacher trainer for 3 of the units. Three times each year the Project provides training for classroom teacher who are new to the units. I am also a member of the Einstein Board of Directors and the chairperson of the Education Committee. The Einstein Project provides me, the classroom teacher, with the additional science background that as an elementary teacher I did not have. It also provides me with additional teaching strategies, curriculum extensions, technology, and much more. This is the best way to teach elementary science. The students comprehend science concepts of much higher levels by doing hands-on, not just reading from a textbook."
-- Mary Kornely, classroom teacher, unit trainer, committee member, and board member
