Looked at various parts of plants, pollen, and a bee under a microscope. Students found this very interesting.

Did some simple experiments before starting the “fast plants” to help students form a hypothesis. Otherwise they had difficulty forming an if/than statement.
Incorporated a biotechnology unit with it. We learned plant/ bee/cell basics, and then we continued with DNA, inheritance and then research/technology/society interactions.
